Robin Green Salon Portland

My journey as a stylist began at the tender age of 5 when I got my hands on some scissors and played "beauty parlor" in the basement with my sister Rachael and some other kids. Everyone got a haircut and a generous application of blush.

I grew up in a small town called Homer on the southern coast of Alaska where everyone wears Carhartts and only sometimes get a haircut. I had a preoccupation with glamour and style from the very beginning things that weren't widely considered in the local culture. I became fairly skilled with the curling iron for school dances and dabbled in creative hair color, sporting some pretty interesting hairdos. I vastly preferred pottery, painting and theatre to academics and knew I wouldn't do well with a career that would keep me at a desk. I needed to be me! Being a hairstylist has been a perfect fit. Creative and social, my very diverse clientele is the best part.

My goal as a stylist is simple, I want every single one of my clients to have beautiful hair (unless you're a dude, then I want it to be cool). I have an extensive education with Goldwell color and have been trained in a style of cutting known as the 'French technique'. I have been working in the business since 1999, I have taken classes and seminars from the very best teachers our industry has to offer and have worked at some of the best salons here in Portland including Magnum Opus and 77. I am very excited about my next chapter, joining the team at green. THE END
